Yes, you can definitely prep and assemble the lasagna the night before! Just cover it tightly with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate. When you’re ready to bake, let it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before popping it in the oven. Enjoy your Christmas dinner!

This is now the only recipe I use for lasagna and the name fits. Every time I make it I am told is the best lasagna they have ever tasted. I like to mix ricotta and cottage cheese otherwise I follow the recipe exactly

The last layer in lasagna doesn’t have the ricotta layer, just sauce and meat. From my personal recipe:

Layer 1/3 of the lasagna noodles in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover noodles with 1/2 ricotta mixture, 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese and 1/3 of the sauce. Repeat. Top with remaining noodles and sauce. Sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese over the top
