Asian Ground Beef Noodles Recipe

I love Asian noodle dishes! Maybe you’ve noticed!?! From my Thai Drunken Noodles to my Quick Chicken Peanut Noodles, I’m a big fan! There is just something about comforting noodles being coated in layers of Asian flavors. It’s one of the world’s best culinary creations in my book.

And these Asian Ground Beef Noodles are no different. The sauce has some similarities to my Chow Mein recipe, but the dish itself is quite a bit different. This recipe includes meat, no veggies, and uses ramen noodles. In fact, the ground beef and ramen are like a delicious match made in heaven but in your mouth instead! Especially when coated with my soy based sauce with hints of fresh garlic and ginger. You will not be disappointed.

Not to mention, this recipe is a 20-minute meal as well as affordable to make! So the next time you’ve got some extra ground beef try out this tasty recipe and let me know what you think!

Why You’ll Love These Asian Ground Beef Noodles

  • Quick and Easy! This dish requires no fancy equipment and comes together in just 20 minutes. Once you cook the noodles and brown the beef, the sauce takes just seconds to make.
  • Beefy Asian Noodles! Ramen and ground beef tossed together in a delicious Asian inspired sauce produces a dish full of unbelievably tasty noodly goodness!
  • Family Favorite! Noodle night is everyone’s favorite night when it comes to dinner. This recipe will soon become one of your family’s most requested weeknight meals.

Ingredients You’ll Need

ingredients needed to make asian ground beef noodles.
  • Peanut Oil – Used to cook the ground meat, it adds yummy flavor. But you can also use plain vegetable oil if you prefer.
  • Sesame Oil – Full of rich toasted sesame flavor and should not be substituted.
  • Ground Beef – I typically use lean ground beef, but any kind will work. You can also use ground pork or ground turkey in place of beef.
  • Ginger – Freshly grated ginger will produce the most authentic flavor.
  • Garlic – Always use fresh minced garlic for the best results.
  • Soy Sauce (Low Sodium) –  I always use a low-sodium soy sauce to control the added salt.
  • Dark Soy Sauce – It’s a bit sweet in taste, thicker in texture, and darker in color. You can find it in any Asian grocery store and oftentimes now in your local market.
  • Oyster Sauce – Be sure to omit it if you have any shellfish allergies. But you can also find vegan versions in some stores.
  • Rice Wine Vinegar – Less intense than regular vinegar it adds a touch of acid to the dish.
  • Ramen Noodles – I always use ramen, but any type of instant noodle will work.
  • Green Onions – Used to garnish the dish and add another layer of flavor.
  • Red Pepper Flakes – Used to add a bit of yummy spice.

How To Make Asian Ground Beef Noodles

This dish is really easy to make in a few simple steps and requires no special skills. In fact, you don’t even need a wok!

Cook The Noodles

To get the dish started, cook the noodles according to the directions on the package. Then drain and set them aside. You’re going to be adding them to the dish in a later step so be careful not to overcook them.

Cook The Ground Beef

Next, grab a large skillet to cook the ground beef. You need one that is large enough to not only cook the meat but big enough to fit all the cooked noodles too. Then heat both the peanut oil and sesame oil in the skillet over medium heat. Now, add the ground beef and cook it just until it’s slightly browned as you break it up with a wooden spoon.

Add The Aromatics And Sauces

Let’s make the sauce! Once the beef is cooked, add the grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, and dark soy sauce to the skillet. Then cook the ingredients together with the meat for about 15 seconds while stirring. Next, stir in the oyster sauce and rice vinegar.

Finish The Dish

Now, it’s time to toss it all together. With the sauce made, add the cooked noodles and green onions to the ground beef mixture in the skillet. Then toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated. If the noodles seem a bit dry, add about ¼ cup of warm water or beef broth.

Garnish And Serve

To serve, sprinkle with the red pepper flakes and a few more chopped green onions for garnish. Then dish out the Asian ground beef noodles into your favorite bowls and enjoy with a side of my Homemade Egg Rolls if you like!

Can I Use Other Types Of Noodles?

Yes! Any type of long noodle will work. Ramen is my favorite for this dish, but udon, Chinese egg noodles, soba, and rice noodles are all great choices. You can even use spaghetti or linguine pasta if you like. The important thing is that you cook the noodles according to the package instructions.

What Can I Add To The Noodles?

These Asian ground beef noodles are super versatile. You can add any vegetables you like and use any type of ground meat. Just keep in mind that this recipe was developed to make enough sauce to coat a certain amount of ingredients. So if you plan on adding a lot of veggies to the dish you may want to double the amount of sauce you make to ensure that you have enough to coat everything.

Expert Tips

  1. No wok required. There’s no need to buy a wok to make this recipe. Just use an extra large skillet instead with a surface big enough to properly toss all the ingredients.
  2. Use fresh ginger and garlic. Minced garlic and grated ginger that you can find sold in jars do not add the same level of delicious aromatic flavor.
  3. Remove from the skillet. Do not leave the noodles in the warm pan once they have been tossed together with the meat and sauce. You don’t want them to dry out.

Storage

Leftover Asian ground beef noodles will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. To reheat, sprinkle them with a bit of water and just pop them in the microwave for a few minutes on medium power or on the stovetop in a pan. You can also store leftovers in the freezer for up to 3 months. However, when reheating from frozen, allow the noodles to completely thaw out first.
